12:51
At 12.51 I stood alone on the port side of the ship, looking out to Franklin Island. It seemed appropriate that the clear blue skies and sunshine we had been experiencing all morning were now replaced by a shrouded sun and grey skies.
Hundreds of tiny pieces of ice gracefully bobbed on the sea and stood out against the dark blue of the ocean. A bite shaped chunk of rock was exposed where a portion of the ice cap had collapsed from Franklin Island. It was a poignant reminder of the beauty and power of nature in one.
I feel especially far from home, but my thoughts and the thoughts of all the Our Far South crew are certainly with family, friends and the people of Canterbury today.

hey J,
) Looking at your map you must be pretty close to getting onto land and after 5+ days at sea your probably looking forward to that. Take care J, miss ya
have just been looking at the photos and they are amazing. Looks like the sea has been cutting up a little rough some days. I hope your patches are helping! Just hanging at school today (Fri) waiting to take kids to the Hampsted Triathalon. The swimming sports were great…. so proud of all kids that pushed themselves for a length. Josh swam out of his skin and the relay will be a talking point for awhile I think.

Hello there, Mrs McKendry- we have been to the swimming sports.
Tom says he liked floating with the board.
Will had to leave his sling on for 2 weeks so he couldn’t swim.
Nikita says she is a good swimmer.
Ella loved catching the fish in the pool.
Rose loved doing starfishes with her nose in the water!
Leah did lots of floating and kicking.
We are missing you. We want to give you a hug.
Love from Mt Peelies, Lee and Sal
