While onboard the expedition the Our Far South will be exploring three main issues:
Biodiversity: The rich animal and plant life and why it is important.
Climate change: What is happening to the climate south of NZ, and what this means both for that region, and for us.
The Race for resources: How is the southern ocean and Antarctica governed, and what are the impacts of activities like fishing and tourism?
This is an amazing region and there is so much to learn about this environment and the issues it faces. We've put together some background information on each of the topics and some questions you might want to explore further. We will share our ideas about to these questions as the expedition unfolds, and also answer any others that you might have.
